Donegal indie rock band The Ephades are bringing their fresh sound to the world with the release of their fourth single, Rather Be With You.

Made up of talented 18 and 19-year-olds, Grace Murphy (vocals) and Grace Nugent (bass) from Letterkenny and Creeslough’s Cahir Doyle (drums) and Kyle Warner (lead guitar), the band found each other through their love for music and passion for creativity.

With gigs at top venues like An Grianán Theatre, Whelans and Oakfest, The Ephades have gained a dedicated fanbase in their hometowns of Letterkenny and Creeslough. And now, they have taken on the national stage with shows in Dublin, Derry and Belfast.

Rather Be With You, is a brooding yet dynamic cut that captures the uncertainty and intensity of youth. Opening with a piercing riff and driving rhythm, the track shifts between restraint and explosive release, revealing the raw emotion beneath its surface. Blending grit with vulnerability, it marks another confident step forward for one of Ireland’s most promising new indie acts.

The single’s artwork features Good Lovers Make Great Enemies by renowned Irish artist Damien McGinley. Known for his layered, textured compositions, McGinley uses bold blue tones and vertical distortion to create a striking visual illusion, partially obscuring the two intertwined figures at the centre of the image.

This fragmented style reflects the emotional tension within “Rather Be With You,” where intimacy and conflict coexist. The artwork’s sense of closeness and separation provides a strong visual parallel to the themes explored in the track. With fantastic production by Start Together Studios, Rather Be With You is a must listen!

Rather Be With You is releasing on Friday, March 6. Make sure to catch them live for an unforgettable experience.
