Jim McGuinness's young side were well in the game at Healy Park at the break, 0-5 to 0-3 down having faced into a mammoth wind. However, in a second half that saw Derry's Brendan Rodgers sent off before Donegal saw Patrick McBrearty red-carded, Mickey Harte's team showed their wherewithal to win comfortably by six points to retain the trophy.
