Call for maps at bottle banks in Dundalk

Cllr Seán Kelly enquired at the January meeting, why extra collections were not carried out at the bottle banks in Dundalk over the Christmas period.

Cllr Kelly said that he made a suggestion two years ago that a map at each bottle bank, to let people know where the nearest one was, they would know where to go if the one they were planning to use was full.

He mentioned that he uses the one at the back of the Friary at McEntee Avenue but gave an example of one at the Castletown Road that he said is never full.

A map indicating where other bottle banks in town were, he said, might stop people from dumping their cans and bottles beside the full bottle banks, and go to one that was not full instead.
