Calling Dundalk women to the Women’s Shed

Dundalk Women’s Shed was set up by Louth Local Development in 2022 for women over 18 from the town and the surrounding area to meet new people, explore new interests and enjoy activities with others.

They now have our own Steering Committee from among the members and meet weekly in the Wellington Hall Mary’s Road on Mondays at 10:00.

Every week they have a different speaker or activity followed by an opportunity to chat and enjoy a tea or coffee.

You can come when you like and a recommended weekly fee of €3.00 is requested but is not compulsory which covers expenses.

The Shed also and meet offers a weekly walking group and a monthly book club which meets in Dundalk Library. Special interest classed are offered through the local education training board. They also offer outings and often have a party morning with music and craic provided by members and visiting guest artists!

The Shed has been a great success to date with up to 80 women coming along when they wish.

Members say: “It’s a great start to my week,” “the Shed is a haven where I enjoy learning new things and meeting new people” and “it’s a fantastic place to have a chat and meet new friends”

The autumn season starts on Monday 4th September when they will be joined by Creative Wellness Practitioner, Sandra Gojic who will look at what it means for moving from summer to autumn and how you can get the best from yourself at this time of year with a little creativity and dance movement.

Throughout the month of September the Women's Shed focus on wellbeing and we also have monster Quiz to see how well you know your town of Dundalk. They will also organise a theatre outing to A Tain and an outing to visit an attraction in the region.

"So why not come along and experience the enjoyment of Dundalk Women’s Shed for yourself and to all our existing members we look forward to welcoming you back for another great year of camaraderie together."

Meet Monday 4th September Wellington Hall, St. Mary’s Road at 10:00 -11:30.
