Under the mentorship of Benny Fretwell, Des Mc Crum and Patjoe Kearney it was reformed as Carlingford Pipe Band in 1973 and their first outing was for Cooley Kickhams winning the Joe Ward Cup, parading through Carlingford w with Terry Brenan as captain.

Its current members are celebrating the 50th anniversary since it was reformed back in 1973.

On 10th September between 2:30 pm and 5pm the band will perform through the streets of Carlingford celebrating with the support of bands from various counties and townlands.

A total of over 130 musicians (pipers and drummers) will amass towards the finale to form as a mass band playing in unison from St. Michael’s Hall to the square.

This will create a sound of splendour transforming the town of Carlingford into a focal centre of musical entertainment. - A fun day for all
