Cllr Keelan proposes lighting for Michael McNeela Walkway in Dundalk

Dundalk Municipal District January meeting
Cllr Conor Keelan spoke at the Dundalk Municipal District January meeting about the number of people he has noticed using the Michael McNeela Riverside walk in Dundalk at night and put forward a request for lighting of the surface of the road.
The Dundalk councillor told members that the walkway has greater usage at night time than he would have expected, including from individual walkers, cyclists and children of school going age.
Cllr Keelan commended the quality of the walkway surface and put forward that lighting would benefit those who use it.
Cllr Keelan also requested that the Council look at the walkway from the Ballymac roundabout to An Táin Bridge as ponding was occurring in places.
Senior Executive Engineer, Paddy Connolly said he would pass on Cllr Keelan's request.
