Dundak cllr pushes for traffic light repairs
Dundalk Municipal District March meeting
Cllr Marianne Butler highlighted at the Dundalk Municipal District March meeting, that the pedestrian lights at the roundabout at the Inner Relief Road and Avenue Road junction have been out of order for five weeks and called for them to be repaired.
Cllr Butler had highlighted the issue at the previous monthly meeting. At the March meeting, Cllr Butler said that it was still “incredibly dangerous” for pedestrians and vulnerable road users.
Seeking an update on what the plans are to address the issue and make it safe for people to cross the road, Cllr Butler added that it was particularly dangerous for pedestrians trying to cross where motorists are exiting the roundabout at speed.
Senior Engineer Paddy Connolly said that they are working in the background on replacing the lights and they should be fixed in the next couple of weeks.
