Dundalk court: Fined for careless driving

A 39 year old man briefly lost control of his BMW at a roundabout on the DkIT campus, while a group of teenagers were standing around it, Dundalk District Court heard last week.

Judge Eirinn McKiernan was told gardaí had received multiple reports of dangerous driving during a car show on November 5th last and Arunas Gelumbauskas of Foxfield, Carrickmacross had continued driving at speed onto the Inner Relief Road.

After hearing the investigating Garda consented to the charge being reduced, Judge McKiernan imposed a €300 fine for careless driving and said "I hope he's learned his lesson - if he's back before me again he's in trouble'.
