Dundalk court: Man found hiding in ex partner's back garden convicted of trespass

A man who was found hiding behind a shed in the back garden of his ex partner's new home, has been convicted in his absence at Dundalk District Court of trespass.
The woman told Judge Eirinn McKeiran that she had seen the defendant when she looked out her window on March 21st last year.
The investigating garda confirmed that the accused had been discovered hiding in a structure at the back of the property and said the woman had only moved into it three days earlier, and the man's name was not on the lease.
He said the woman was agitated and "definitely in a state of fear".
The Defence solicitor said his client has other matters listed on September 20th, and stressed that he is engaging in a three month residential treatment programme which is due to finish next month.
Judge McKiernan recorded a conviction and adjourned the case for finalisation on that date.
