Suspended sentence for man (32) who admitted unauthorised use of Revolut card

A 32 year old man, with 56 previous convictions, who admitted the unauthorised use of a Revolut card in a series of transactions at two locations in Dundalk, has been given a suspended sentence at the local district court.

Charlie McDowell of Mullaharlin Park, Dublin Road, Dundalk was charged with seven deception offences as part of the garda investigation.

They were committed at the Northend Bar on Bridge Street and a local Londis store on May 1st last year and the amount involved totalled €67.

After the defence solicitor told the court that his client, who had compensation in court, has a dreadful history of alcohol dependence, Judge Eirinn McKiernan imposed a four month sentence, which she suspended in full on him entering a bond to be of good behaviour for a period of 12 months.
