Dundalk gardai seize overweight recovery van with no insurance

Dundalk Roads Policing Unit say they were on patrol recently when they stopped this recovery van.

Gardai say they seized the vehicle as there was no insurance displayed and then had the vehicle and its load weighed which confirmed a total weight of 4.6 tonnes.

This exceeded the gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tonnes for the vehicle which would affect its braking and handling. 

Court proceedings are to follow.
