Judge Eirinn McKiernan adjourned finalising the matter to allow him to finish a treatment course and said if it's completed by then and clean urinalysis results are produced she would deal with it by way of a suspended sentence and warned she would be considering custody" if they aren't.

When the case was called last Wednesday, the judge imposed a four month sentence, suspended on the defendant entering a bond to be of good behaviour for 12 months.

The judge added that she was taking into account all of the efforts he has taken.
