Dundalk's Nia Keys releases new single

‘Yeah’ is a vibrant and evocative anthem
Fusing afrobeats with the soulful melodies of RnB while drawing inspiration from a rich tapestry of musical influences, Dundalk based songwriter Nia Keyo is ready to release her new single ‘Yeah’ on July 12, 2024.
‘Yeah’ is a vibrant and evocative anthem capturing the nuanced dance where flirtation and interest simmer just below the surface. ‘Yeah’ is about recognizing the signs—those stolen glances, the light touches, and the lingering conversations that signal more than just casual interaction.
The song's protagonist is caught in this cycle of back-and-forth, where signals are sent but never fully articulated. With a catchy chorus and relatable verses, ‘Yeah’ empowers listeners to take control of these ambiguous interactions.
The protagonist decides to break the loop by giving a clear green light, signalling to the other person that the next move is theirs to make.
This decisive moment is both a challenge and an invitation, pushing the hesitant admirer to step up and express their feelings openly.
Nia’s sound is a captivating blend of sultry vulnerability and raw emotional depth, an approach to writing that has been moulded by her many influences, like Alicia Keys and Mariah Carey.
Her Brazilian-Angolan heritage has slowly cultivated Nia’s love and curiosity for Afro-Beats and Brazilian/Latino music.
Creating a sonic experience that is as diverse as it is unforgettable, her eclectic music taste has allowed her to venture into various music forms outside of RnB and HipHop.
Incorporating unexpected rhythms and elements to create her own sound.
Produced by Chris Kabs, with ‘Yeah’ Nia Keyo has crafted a relatable anthem for anyone who has ever been caught in the tantalizing yet frustrating web of unspoken attraction.
It's a reminder that while the dance of flirtation can be exhilarating, sometimes you need to take a leap of faith and say it outright.
Beginning her journey in the early years of her childhood, Nia took her first steps into the world of music, with her first public performance at the age six.
A simple duet, but that consisted of self-initiated focus and persistence with rehearsals and the strive to perfect the song as much as she could.
Young Nia showed her parents this was a hobby worth their investment.
In 2015 she began recording covers and her renditions of chart-topping songs, later releasing these to her own YouTube channel. Here she began understanding the intricate process that is creating music.
Nia’s dedication to her craft led her to immerse herself in the studio, where she has worked closely with notable Irish artists including Chris Kabs and JyellowL.
Taking to the stage Nia has supported artists like Alan McKee, Negro Impacto and Toshin.
Nia has been back in the studio again creating and polishing tracks, producing a pool of songs to select from as she works towards her EP.
Working closely with the TEMO World’s production team, her main focus is on developing an official body of work to be released in early 2025.
