Dundalk's Townhouse raise €6,500 for baby Dáithí

The team at Dundalk’s Townhouse have raised €6,500 for baby Dáithí McCann through their Do It For Dáithí draw and fundraising efforts over Christmas.
At a live draw last Sunday night Tammy Farrell from Drumconrath was the lucky winner of over €3,000 of prizes all kindly donated by local businesses.
Prizes included a heartfelt donation from Ryan O'Kane—a signed Dundalk FC Jersey with a rallying cry of 'C'mon the town!'
The team at the Townhouse reached out to more than 40 locally owned businesses in Dundalk, they say the response was overwhelming.
Dáithí’s parents Bronagh and Caolán were delighted for Tammy who says she never wins anything and was blown away by the prize.
The Townhouse’s General Manager Grace Durnin had the pleasure of presenting Bronagh and Caolán with a cheque for €6,500euro!
The total raised was a combination of raffle tickets sold, proceeds from Light Up for Dáithí wands sold during Frostival and money raised by local singer/songwriter Mark Durnin at his charity gig.
The Team at The Townhouse say they would like to thank all local businesses who rallied around to support this amazing boy and for all of those who purchased tickets.
The funds raised will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the lives of Dáithí and family.
Little Dáithí spent the first 14 months of his life in hospital. He was originally in Temple Street and after five months was transferred to Crumlin Children's hospital.
Four days before Christmas last year, Dáithí was diagnosed with Wiedemann Steiner syndrome.
Dáithí has a urostomy, his right kidney doesn't work & his left is in failure. Dáithí is constantly nauseous, he gets dehydrated dangerously quickly. So when Dáithí is having a bad day he's unable to progress developmentally, this with his low muscle tone & developmental delay makes things challenging for him. Dáithí also uses a CPAP mask for his breathing.
One day when he is more medically stable his family hope to take him to Texas to Kinactive Kids Kamp for specialist Physical therapy.
