€6,ooo has also been allocated to Drogheda LGBTQI Support Group for its 3 days a week club.

Welcoming the funding announcement, Louth TD Fergus O'Dowd said, “I’m delighted that local Louth organisations will benefit significantly from the €1.2m national fund, improving supports and services for the LGBTI+ community is essential as we try to build a more inclusive and safe environment for everyone.

“I wish Bernie and the extended team in Outcomers and Peter and the extended team in Drogheda the very best in delivering their respective projects.”

The 2022 LGBTI+ Community Services Funding Call is seen as an important element in achieving overall objective of the National LGBTI+ Inclusion Strategy, which was adopted by Government and launched in November 2019.
