Expansion planned at Carrickdale Hotel in north Louth

Plans are underway at The Carrickdale Hotel, at Carrickcarnon, Dundalk, for a three storey extension that would see, if given the go ahead, additional accommodation at the well known north Louth hotel.

Carrickdale Enterprises Ltd has applied to Louth County Council for planning permission for a three storey extension to the north side of the existing bedroom block, that would comprise 18 bedrooms, with six bedrooms on each floor.

The application also provides for a new emergency staircase; an extension to the south side of the existing bedroom block, comprising a new passenger lift and lift enclosure; and an extension of the retaining wall to the rear of the bedroom block to provide vehicular access to rear of building.

A decision is due from Louth County Council on the application by 20 December 2023, with submissions due by 29 November.
