Fun and friendship at Gaelcholáiste Dhún Dealgan’s Easter Camp

Primary school students get a flavour of Dundalk’s newest secondary school
15 fourth, fifth and sixth class primary school students got a flavour of Dundalk’s newest secondary school, when they took part in Gaelcholáiste Dhún Dealgan’s Easter Camp this year.
It was a chance for them to experience activities through Irish, which ranged from cooking, sports, gardening, science experiments, art and Lego challenges. Students learned the importance of being active and making responsible decisions regarding their food choices and health.

Gaelcholáiste Dhún Dealgan is a co-educational, multi-denominational, multi-cultural, secondary school. It is the only school in Co. Louth where students can receive their secondary education through Irish.
This Gaelcholáiste is under the patronage of An Foras Pátrúnachta, the largest patron of Irish-medium schools. It is located in Robin House, The Ramparts and there are spaces available for incoming First Year (2024-25) and Second Year (2024-25) students.
Ms Héarún says that the school says that everyone is welcome, it is not a requirement that a child attends a gaelscoil. She adds that as Gaelcholáiste Dhún Dealgan is a small school community, students will benefit from great care and attention, everyone knows one another and support is given in all subjects including Irish language development.
