Menace and The Gakk take to the stage in Toales Live Venue on Friday night

Friday 22nd March – Menace and The Gakk

“Menace are the best punk band in England today!" enthused Sniffing Glue way back then.

Menace were London’s first generation no-nonsense boot boys, pre-dating Sham 69 and Cockney Rejects who overtook them in terms of mass popularity.

They formed in 1976 at the Hope And Anchor in Islington, with half of the band being first generation Irish immigrants. and their high-energy, unpretentious sets quickly won them few admirers in the press, but a strong loyal fan-base that brought together both punks and skinheads.

They’re often cited as the first to unite this potentially volatile mix. However, there was nothing premeditated about the audience they attracted.

“Sham were more overt in their leanings towards skinheads,” said Menace's Noel Martin.

“We had that crossover thing. We liked that idea.” partly because most of the band themselves were skinheads in their youth.

Support comes from Dundalk's very own punk five-piece The Gakk, who have just returned from a short tour in the UK promoting their latest album "Live In The Social"

Admission €10. Doors open 8pm.

Saturday 23rd March - Nick Puyane with Conal McIntyre

Special Guests: - Sean Fee (The Dundalk Dolls) + Mark Corcoran

Nick Puyane—Evil Harrisons, The 1922s, and the Magnificent Loafers - on keys will be joined by Conal McIntyre - The Heritage Centre and We the Oceanographers - on guitar and synth (because, who doesn't love a good synth?) on Saturday 23 March in Toales Live Venue. Nick’s songs have been compared to Randy Newman, the Divine Comedy, Stephen Sondheim, and Microdisney.

For this gig, Nick and Conal will re-imagine tunes from the Magnificent Loafers, alongside freshly penned songs that echo influences of Weyes Blood, Father John Misty and Rufus Wainwright.

The evening also features the talents of Sean Fee and Gavin Wynne of the Dundalk Dolls, who will strip down their tracks for an acoustic set and Mark Corcoran, who will delve into both new and cherished numbers from his catalogue.

Doors open 8pm. Tickets €10

Sunday 24th March - Toales Sunday Session presents

Fomorian plus Puresonic Outcasts

The Sunday Session is an early evening event, with set door times 5.30pm to 9pm, and Toales Live Venue is very proud to present the return of Dundalk's very own Fomorian, a metal band that are new to the Irish scene, but have already made  a huge splash with their Lamb Of God/Chimaira/Sepultura inspired progressive heavy metal.

Lead singer Albert is going abroad for a few months so this will be the nosiest of going-away parties before he returns to join the band to record their debut album this Summer.

Support comes from Puresonic Outcasts, who blew the roof off Toales venue when they played here last your, with their fuzzed and distorted sound, sometimes sludgy slow, sometimes thrash fast but always heavy and aggressive.

Strong harmonies, lyrics and riffs make this band essential for fans of heavy/stoner/doom/metal/punk and hardcore alike.

A new powerful band with an old-school attitude.

Doors open 5.30pm until 9pm. Admission €10.
