'Huge' TV screen removed from storm pipe in Dundalk

Louth County Council has said that it removed a "huge" tv screen from a storm pipe along Rock Road in Dundalk yesterday.

Sharing the news on social media on Tuesday, Louth County Council said that its crews removed "this huge television screen from a storm pipe along Rock Road, Dundalk where it blocked drainage and caused flooding on local roads".

The local authority did not indicate if it knows how long it has been in the storm pipe. The image shared by Louth County Council indicates that the tv was an older type of television set, and not a more modern flat screen tv.

Blocked drains and local flooding has been an issue in many areas in north Louth in the past year, particularly over the winter months.
