LauraLynn ask Louth people to help families make lasting memories this Christmas

LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice have launched their Christmas appeal shedding light on how LauraLynn help families like Jamie's create special memories to last a lifetime. Fronting the campaign this year are the Murray family from Cork.
Helena Murray and her husband Mark lost their little boy, Jamie in 2021 at just 10 years old. Jamie was brother to Mark and Lucas.
LauraLynn offers care and supports to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Supports include Counselling, Music & Play Therapy, targeted therapeutic care to the child, parents, and siblings.
Since opening in 2011 LauraLynn has provided care and supports to 680 children with life-limiting conditions and their families across Ireland.
Helena and Mark Murray commented;
“When we went to stay at LauraLynn for the first time Jamie’s bedroom was a replica of his room at home, it had the same toys he loved. His routine, everything, was kept the same, to make him feel at home. LauraLynn even made sure his room had his favourite scent. Jamie loved the smell of eucalyptus.
"He constantly suffered from pneumonia and the eucalyptus would give his chest some relief. And there at LauraLynn, they had put an aroma machine in his room, diffusing the soothing fragrance of eucalyptus. The attention to detail brought tears to our eyes. There was just so much love in that room.”
LauraLynn are now supporting more children and their families than ever before, In 2022, 1534 nights of In-Hospice Care was provided by LauraLynn’s specialist team.
