Local banjo player to support Vladimir Jablokov in Dundalk Gaol

Acclaimed violinist Vladimir Jablokov to visit Oriel Centre on Saturday 15 April
Acclaimed violinist Vladimir Jablokov will make a much-anticipated return visit to the Oriel Centre on Saturday 15 April and joining him as support will be local banjo player, Enda Dooley.
Enda is from a family of award winning traditional musicians and grew up surrounded by a love of music so it’s of no surprise that from the age of four he started learning traditional Irish music on mandolin, and has focused on developing his own distinctive banjo style since.
A member of Comhaltas Ceoltoirí Éireann, Enda also plays with Ceoltoirí Óga Laighean, as well as performing with Nós Nua Youth Folk Orchestra. With Nos Nua Enda has performed at the National Concert Hall, for President Michael D. Higgins at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Drogheda and on TG4’s Leinster Fleadh programme.
He featured on TG4’s Fleadhfest series with members of his musical family in 2021, and is currently recording with Nós Nua. Enda will be joined on stage by Rachael Dooley on harp, and Saoirse McGahern from Cavan on bodhrán.
This show is set to sell out with very limited tickets available from www.orielcentre.ie as this is a rare opportunity to see Vladimir Jablokov in such an intimate venue. Other exciting shows coming up in the Oriel Centre include folk singer Dani Larkin, Something Happens’ Tom Dunne and folk band Dallahan.
