Louth councillors approve new housing estate special speed limit bye laws

Councillors at the Louth County Council July meeting agreed to approve the local authority's Housing Estate Special Speed Limit Draft Bye Laws, having deferred their approval at the June meeting.

The new bye laws, which will come into operation from August 2023, will mean that the maximum speed limit of 30km/hr for mechanically propelled vehicles will be in effect on housing estate roads in the county.

The locations in Dundalk where the 30km/hr will apply are as follows:

4. Ath Leathan
5. Castle Park and Castle Heights
6. Fatima
7. Greenacres, Villa Park, Lisnaree, Afton Drive, Oaklawns and Laurel Grove

10. Lennon Melia Terrace
11. Lennonstown Manor
12. Lios Mead
13. Meadow View - Avondale
14. St Nicholas Ave (Part), Boyle O'Reilly Tce & Assumption Place (Part)
