Louth councillors to visit Cavanhill Water Treatment Plant

Dundalk Municipal District May meeting
Louth County Councillors are to pay a site visit to Cavanhill Water Treatment Plant, months after making their initial request for a site visit.
Local councillors had been requesting a site visit following ongoing issues with the local water supply, which have included disruptions to the water supply and discoloured water.
The matter was raised at the Dundalk Municipal District May meeting, where Cllr Seán Kelly told the meeting that councillors had "finally" been granted a visit to Cavanhill and welcoming the news added that brown water in the local water supply was still an issue, with it reoccurring just the previous weekend in the town.
Cllr Kelly told the meeting that it would be a good opportunity to see what the issues are at the plant, further adding that it should not have taken so long for Uisce Éireann to grant the request.
