Points from Tristan Knowles and Nulty added to the Mitchels score and after a free into the area was caught by Robbie Coyle and he was adjudged to have been taken down and the referee pointed to the spot for a penalty.
Nulty stepped up to take the spot kick but keeper John Brennan got down to his left to save the shot but the referee said he had moved to early and had the kick retaken and this time Nulty made no mistake with the spot kick to leave the score 2-5 to 2-10 with 15 minutes to go.

ST NICHOLAS 1-9
ANNAGHMINNON ROVERS 0-6
Despite manager Karl O’Connor absent due to his wedding on Friday, St. Nicholas secured promotion and continued their push for the Division 3B title with a massive win over fellow title contenders, Annaghminnon Rovers.
In a tight first half, the visitors packed their defence and frustrated the Nicks, while Rory Phelan countered on the break to give Rovers an early two point to no score lead.
Midway through the half the hosts began to pressurise the visitors' kick out and soon levelled with points from Sam Reilly and Fionn Meagher. A late flurry of scores from Roy Kierans, Phillip Kirwan and Hayden Quinn had the home side leading going into the break.
The second half was a more controlled affair as St. Nicholas dominated possession while playing into a stiff breeze. Two more points from Reilly extended the lead and a goal from the impressive Caebhan Housidari put the game out of reach of the men from Stonetown. A late Fionn Meagher point confirmed the three points and division 3A football in Jimmy Pentony Park next season.
With no game to play next week Rovers manager Glenn Burden can be content with a good first season in which he has no doubt brought the club along. Promotion could still be on the cards if either the Mals or Tones slip up this Saturday.

SEAN MCDERMOTTS 1-5
With one game to play, Westerns overcame local rivals Sean McDermotts to secure promotion out of Division 3B. The title will be decided next weekend away in Omeath but Saturday night they had to show resolve.
An early Niall Babington penalty sent Reaghstown pulses racing but they settled down into the contest against the visiting Seans and led by the short whistle. James Maguire hit 1-2 of his tally in the comeback.
Second half, David Martin’s side put things to bed early themselves when Emmet Smith hit a ten minute goal. Smith was in outstanding form all evening. The victory now sets up a final day battle to decide the title.

The win was crucial as it saw John Garvey’s men leapfrog their opponents on the table. The foundation for victory was laid when Garrett Cooney netted an early goal. Rory Taffee and Collie Rooney traded scores but it was a long way back for the Mals.
Paudie Moley tried to lift their spirits after the break but Taaffe was now in full flow clipping over four second half points. They face already promoted rivals and neighbours St Nicholas’ next. With faith in their own hands, a win will put Tones in the playoff spot at third but Mals could seize the opportunity against the Seans if Tones slip up.
