Louth LE 2024: Drogheda Rural's Michelle Hall elected

Michelle Hall has topped the poll in Drogheda Rural and has been elected in the first count, which has just been announced.

Speaking to the Dundalk Democrat she said that "I'm relieved and delighted, I worked hard for five years for the people of Drogheda Rural, delivered a lot of positive things to improve people's lives there, so I'm delighted that the hard work paid off, for everybody as well who voted for me too. It's a win for everybody in the community.

On The Labour Party's performance overall in Louth so far, she added, "Pio [Smith] also has topped the poll [in Drogheda Urban] and hopefully he'll get through tomorrow on the first count as well, so it just goes to show Labour are hard working on the ground councillors who try to deliver for people."
