Louth Tidy Towns groups excelled in this year's SuperValu TidyTowns Awards, with Blackrock being announced Tidiest Small Town in Ireland, along with gold medals being awarded to four other groups.
Blackrock, along with being named the Tidiest Small Town in Ireland, also took the County First award and a gold medal. County Second went to Dromiskin, who also picked up a gold medal, with Tallanstown taking the County Third award and a silver medal.
Gold medals also went to Dundalk and Drogheda, while a silver medal went to Ardee and a bronze to Carlingford. Carlingford also came second in the Town Centre First Award.
An Endeavour award also went to Sandpit Tidy Towns.
Commenting on Facebook earlier today, Dundalk Tidy Towns said: "A huge thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers, sponsors, project partners, residents associations, Louth County Council, TUS & CE schemes, community groups and schools! Without you, the fantastic people of Dundalk, we couldn't achieve this for our town! This year also sees a big increase in points across the categories!"
"Congratulations to Blackrock Tidy Towns on winning Ireland's Tidiest Small Town!"
