Thursday will be another rather cloudy and mostly dry day, with just the odd spot of light rain or drizzle.

Wet and windy conditions in the southwest will gradually spread northeastwards over the country on Thursday night. Some temporary falls of sleet may occur about high ground in parts of Connacht, Ulster and Leinster.

Fresh to strong and gusty southeasterly winds, with gales along western and southern coasts for a time, will slowly ease from the southwest overnight.

Lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees, but less cold in the southwest and near the south coast.
