Louth's Cllr Reilly says first step completed in survey of phone signal in Cooley peninsula

Get Connected has undertaken a drone survey in the area
Dundalk-Carlingford's Cllr John Reilly has said that work to improve mobile phone coverage in parts of north Louth is well underway, with the completion of a drone survey in the area.
Get Connected, who have been contacted by Cllr John Reilly, has undertaken a drone survey of mobile coverage of Lordship and Templetown.
The Louth councillor says that the drone has collected data on the area. Get Connected, he says, has taken measurements from the drone and will collect evidence from this survey.
This will result, Cllr Reilly says, in the installation of booster poles in the Cooley peninsula. These booster poles will enhance the mobile signal and will alleviate any poor reception over a large part of the peninsula. This technology has been used in other counties that have the backdrop of a mountain which tends to interfere with mobile coverage.
Cllr Reilly claims he has received several phone calls and texts of complaints about the mobile coverage in other areas which he hopes to investigate through another survey in the near future. He has requested for a drone survey to be carried out in the Tankardsrock area of Kilkerley.
Cllr Reilly has stated that this is one of his main priorities going forward into 2023.
