Man stole a mini-projector from Dundalk store

A 34 year old man who stole a mini-projector from Homesavers in Dundalk Retail Park was given a four month suspended sentence at Dundalk district court last week.

The court heard Jonathan Harte with an address at Rockfield Close, Ardee had 88 previous convictions.

The Defence solicitor said unfortunately his client has a bad history of a long running difficulty with substance abuse and alcohol.

He added that Mr. Harte has engaged quite well over the last number of months and had received a call on the morning of the court which was giving him a date for admission to a treatment programme.

Judge Eirinn McKiernan imposed a four month sentence which she suspended on the defendant entering a bond to be of good behaviour for 18 months.
