McDonald's in Dundalk announces reopening date after refurbishment

McDonald's Ireland is to reopen its Dundalk restaurant on Wednesday 27th September following a major refurbishment programme.
The investment will create an additional 15 jobs for the local community, bringing the total number employed at the restaurant to more than 120.
Upgrades to the restaurant at Dundalk Shopping Centre include a new dual lane Drive-Thru, which McDonald's say will offer enhanced speed and efficiency for customers; a new kitchen design with bigger order assembly area that they say will help crew serve more quickly and accurately; and a significantly expanded crew room to create a more relaxing and comfortable space for employees.
In a statement McDonald's said:
"The refurbishment of the restaurant forms part of McDonald’s ‘Convenience of the Future’ upgrade programme, which is seeing the brand shake up the way its restaurants across Ireland and the UK operate to reflect the increasingly diverse ways that customers can order, and keep pace with customer expectations today and tomorrow.
"Since 2022, McDonald’s has introduced Convenience of the Future in more than 200 restaurants across Ireland and the UK, with 800 conversions planned by 2026. The Convenience of the Future platform will continue to evolve and introduce new innovations depending on the customer need and the restaurant format.
"Positive impacts are already being seen, with increased customer satisfaction in restaurants where delivery is particularly popular and in Drive-Thrus. Restaurant teams are also responding positively to the new working environment."
The Dundalk restaurant is owned and operated by Franchisee Elaine Sterio, who also operates McDonald's restaurants in Navan, Monaghan, Drogheda, Balbriggan and will open McDonald’s newest restaurant Ireland, in Carrick-in-Shannon in November this year.
“We are excited to welcome our loyal customers back to our new and improved Dundalk restaurant on 27th September following this extensive refurbishment programme,” Elaine said.
“We are confident that the benefits realised through our investment in Convenience of the Future will be two-fold. Firstly, it will deliver a quicker, more seamless and more convenient experience for our customers, delivery partners and crew.
"And, secondly, it will pave the way for further innovation in the future as we continue to respond to the evolving needs and preferences of our customers in terms of how they order and collect their food.”
