Meet the Louth general election candidate: Marianne Butler

Green Party candidate Marianne Butler
“I’m Dundalk born and raised, went to St. Louis and studied business at Trinity College Dublin, and worked in the bank for a few years before being elected in 2009.
“I’ve served as a County Councillor for 15 years representing Dundalk South. I’m married and a Mammy to two boys aged eight and 11. We live on the Avenue Road in Dundalk.
“I’m running for the Dáil because we deserve a hard-working, honest TD, you can go to for help when you need it and someone who takes a long-term perspective on the development of the County.
“Some of my priorities include: - Constantly strengthening our local economy to deal with external shocks,
- Ensure Louth gets its fair-share of the €3bn Climate and Nature Fund,
- Investing in new and existing schools and DKIT,
- Continuously improve public transport, walking, and cycling infrastructure
- Protecting the town’s reputation as a welcoming, fair, and decent place.
“Dundalk needs a TD, I’m fiercely proud of the town, and I want to be a TD that the town can be proud of. On November 29th vote Butler No 1.”
