New plans for 39 homes at Dublin Road in Dundalk
Planning application lodged with Louth County Council
Plans are underway for 39 new homes on a site at the Dublin Road in Haggardstown, just outside Dundalk.
Molaris Limited has applied to Louth County Council for planning permission for development on a site bound by the Dublin Road (R132) to the west, an existing dwelling to the north and an existing dwelling known as St Cecilia's to the south and by an open ditch to the east.
The proposed development would see the demolition of an existing derelict structure on site and the construction of 39 dwellings, comprising six one-bed; 12 two-bed and 21 three bed homes, in a combination of houses and duplex apartments ranging in height from two to three storey. The duplex apartments are provided with balconies.
A new vehicular access is proposed from the R132 as part of the development, as well as all associated site development works.
A decision is due on the application by 23 February with submissions due by 2 February 2023.
Molaris had previously applied for planning permission for 40 new homes in Haggardstown last March, with the local authority refusing planning permission. A number of submissions had been made on the proposed development. Among reasons cited in the submissions for opposing the development were, invasion of privacy, impact of traffic and the height of the buildings.
