No extra lighting to be installed at McNeela Riverside Walk in Dundalk

Dundalk Municipal District February meeting
Cllr Conor Keelan has expressed his disappointment at the Dundalk Municipal District February meeting at the news that no additional lighting would be installed by Louth County Council at the Michael McNeela Riverside Walk in Dundalk.
Cllr Keelan had requested extra lighting at the January meeting, saying that the walkway was seeing a lot of night time use, but told members at the February meeting that he had received a response from the Council to say that extra lighting would not be installed.
The Fianna Fáil councillor asked that the matter be looked at again, as cables were installed at the walkway when it was constructed, so it would be less costly for Louth Council to install lighting if it chose to do so.
Cllr Keelan said it would be a worthwhile exercise to do so, for the benefit of all the users in the area. The meeting was told in response that the Council had nothing further to add on the matter.
