PHOTOS: Louth students celebrate ‘Maths Week’ at Réalt na Mara

Maths Week in Réalt na Mara School was a wonderful celebration of the national theme, “Mathematics and Hope,” with pupils engaging in fun challenges, facilitated by their Transition Year buddies from St Vincent’s Secondary School, including puzzles, problem-solving activities and maths-based homework.

Students at Réalt na Mara celebrated ‘Maths Week’ with pupils engaging in fun challenges, facilitated by Transition Years from St Vincent’s Secondary School, including puzzles, problem-solving activities and maths-based homework.

The week culminated in the school's Maths Hat Parade, where children showcased their creativity by designing and wearing hats inspired by mathematical ideas, patterns, shapes, numbers and much more.

Michelle O’Connor, Maths Coordinator, said: “The parade highlights the beautiful connection between mathematics and creativity, showing children that maths is not just about numbers and calculations, but also about imagination, design, patterns and thinking outside the box.

“It has been a fantastic opportunity to bring mathematics to life, build confidence and celebrate the joy of Maths together.”

Our photographer Arthur Kinahan was there to capture the great school event.
