Tidy Towns volunteers from across County Louth were celebrated at a packed Louth Looking Good Awards ceremony in the Fairways Hotel, where the results of the 2026 competition were officially announced.

The evening opened with a powerful video presentation showcasing the exceptional standard of environmental enhancement achieved in towns and villages throughout the county. Produced by Ken and Áine Finegan of Newspics, the video left attendees in no doubt that Louth is not just looking good – it is looking exceptional.

The Louth Looking Good initiative is organised entirely by volunteers and is reliant on various sponsors from across the county including Louth County Council.

The standout performer of the night was Dromiskin, securing the Overall Award alongside the Youth Award, Biodiversity Award, Climate Action Award, Waste Minimisation Award, and runnerup positions in both the Best Presented Graveyard and Seasonal Display categories.

Fresh from their success in the European Entente Florale competition, Blackrock Tidy Towns claimed the Overall RunnerUp award and featured prominently in the Climate Action and Biodiversity special categories.

Former national Tidy Towns winner Tallanstown secured third place, while Cherrywood Park was named Best Overall Housing Estate in County Louth.

Omeath received the Adjudicators Award and also took home the Age Friendly Award, reflecting the village’s continued upward trajectory.
