Uisce Éireann say every effort will be made to limit the impact of these essential works

Uisce Éireann has advised customers in Moneymore, Drogheda of a disruption to water supply from 9pm on 7 October until 5am on 8 October to facilitate ongoing essential watermains replacement works.

The areas affected by the outage include; Hardman’s Gardens, Patrick Street and Sandyford Terrace, Moneymore, Drogheda and surrounding areas. Customers may be impacted by water interruptions and low pressure.

Uisce Éireann say every effort will be made to limit the impact of these essential works and they would like to thank the community in advance for their patience and co-operation. Following the completion of the works, it will take time for water pressure to return to normal. It can take 2-3 hours for the normal water supply to return as water refills the network.

These works will be carried out under Uisce Éireann’s national Leakage Reduction Programme, which the company says helps provide a more reliable water supply to Irish communities by reducing high levels of leakage and improving water quality.

Uisce Éireann’s customer care team is available to help 24/7 on 1800 278 278 and customers can also contact them on Twitter @IWCare with any queries. For further updates, visit the service and supply section of www.water.ie
