Plans underway for works at Monksland NS in north Louth

Extension planned to accommodate Special Educational Needs base
Plans are underway for a new extension to Monksland National School in Carlingford.
The Board of Management atMonksland National School has applied to Louth County Council for planning permission for a development that will consist of an extension to the existing school to accommodate a Special Educational Needs (SEN) Base.
The SEN will consist of two classrooms, central activity space, offices and other support spaces, with a total area of approximately 500m2.
The planning application also provides for two secure play areas, reconfiguration of car parking and associated site works.
A decision is due on the application by 18 February 2023 with submissions due by 28 January 2023.
