The firm's cars are a well known fixture in the town
Popular Dundalk driving school, El Passo says it has taken the "heartbreaking decision to close.”
The school’s founder and well known local man Barry McDermott, who also served as Chairman of Dundalk Young Irelander’s GFC passed away over two years ago in February 2022.
Taking to the company’s Facebook page, Barry’s wife Tara explained the decision:
“Due to recent events I have taken the heartbreaking decision to close my dear husbands business eLPasso School of Motoring.
“Those that knew Barry knew he was a trailblazer- he built the business up from very humble beginnings to what it is today.
“He was one of the first driving instructors to realise the power of social media in building a business and used it to its full potential-sometimes to the embarrassment of those that passed their test with him!!
“This has not been an easy decision but eLPASSo should now rest with Barry. Queries to [email protected]. Thank you.”
