Positive reaction from US tourists to Biden banners in Dundalk

Dundalk Municipal District June meeting
Louth County Council have not yet taken the banners on Clanbrassil Street in Dundalk, welcoming US president Joe Biden, as US tourists to the town found them welcoming, councillors were informed at the Dundalk Municipal District June meeting.
Cllr Conor Keelan spoke of the banners and US flags that were still up on Clanbrassil Street and asked when they would be removed.
Director of Service, Thomas McEvoy, told the meeting that the Council had planned to take them down a couple of weeks ago but delayed the decision due to the feedback they received from retailers.
Mr McEvoy said that they hadn't anticipated the feedback, saying that it was "extremely positive", with retailers saying they had a number of US visitors coming into stores, commenting on the banners and saying that they found them welcoming.
Mr McEvoy added that the banners would be coming down in a few weeks.
