Following a sell out run at An Táin Arts Centre the play will be performed at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT)

The Big House written and directed by local man Conor McGinnity, is to be staged at a free performance at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) this November, followed by a fundraising table quiz at the Spirit Store.

The play explores the tensions, relationships and stories that unfold within a family — combining compelling drama with the distinctive voice of one of the region's emerging dramatic talents. The play itself centres on Rose, a young witch, trapped in a desperate marriage in a 1980s Irish farmhouse.

The production is now preparing for its next chapter, with a film adaptation due to be shot in January at the historic Anaverna House.

Before filming gets underway, audiences will have an opportunity to experience the play at a special free performance in the Mac Anna Theatre at DkIT on Tuesday, November 10, at 12 noon.

Admission is free, and the event will also include a question-and-answer session with Conor, giving audience members an opportunity to hear more about the play, its development and the forthcoming film adaptation.

The following evening, Wednesday, November 11, a fundraising table quiz takes place at the Spirit Store, starting at 8pm.

Film enthusiasts are particularly encouraged to get involved, with the quiz featuring film-themed questions, a raffle and some big prizes up for grabs.

Entry is €10 per person, with answer sheets also available for sale on the night.
