Gardai in the Dundalk District have received six ring buoy & rope bags which will be placed in patrol cars in the Dundalk District.

The idea was raised and put in place by Sergeant Damien Welby from  Blackrock Garda Station.

The ring buoys & rope bags were kindly donated by Oriel Auto Recovery on behalf of Finbarr Dillon. Both Finbarr and Damien are members of Dundalk Sub Aqua Club.

Water Safety is a very important issue and An Garda Siochana have to deal with water based incidents on an ongoing basis.

The ring buoy & rope bags are to be placed in patrol vehicles in the Dundalk District and it is hoped that the initiative will prevent the loss of life in the future.
