Woman arrested following stabbing in Dundalk

Gardaí in Dundalk are investigating a stabbing that occurred at a residence on Quay Street in the town at around 2:50am in the early hours of this morning (Friday, 20th October).

A woman in her 20s was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda for treatment of serious injuries.

Gardaí say they have arrested a female in her 40s, who is currently detained at a Garda station in Co. Louth under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Investigations are ongoing.
