About 200 gather to protest in Tipperary town

Between 150 and 200 people gathered for a number of hours in Cahir

Between 150 and 200 people gathered at Cahir Mart on Cashel Road on Saturday in what was advertised beforehand as being a 'fuel/government protest'.

The protesters, many holding Irish tricolour flags, then walked in convoy to The Square, led by lorry, 

The gathering was contained to The Square, with a small Garda presence.

There were speakers outside Cahir library, between three and four according to eyewitnesses, and 'no trouble'.

The crowd dispersed peacefully after a number of hours.
