Each painting is a testament to her profound connection with the environment, capturing both the tranquility and the untamed spirit of the West Coast of Ireland.
Held in the Scarriff Library Gallery, it will serve as the ideal backdrop for Ailish's exquisite creations.
Born and raised in the majestic West Coast of Ireland, Ailish has developed a profound connection with her surroundings. Drawing inspiration from the breathtaking landscapes and seascapes of her childhood, she translates her unique perspective onto the canvas. As a result, her paintings exude a sense of serenity, tranquility, and boundless energy.
Working primarily with acrylic paints, inks, texture mediums, pastels, and glazing techniques, Ailish skillfully layers her materials to bring her artistic visions to life. In a testament to her creativity, she even incorporates found objects from her beachcombing walks as painting tools, leaving distinct marks on the canvas.
Her intention is to create an immersive experience where viewers can feel the gentle sea breeze, the invigorating ocean spray, or the harmony of a calm day, as well as the vigor of a tempestuous tide.
In her quest for inspiration, Ailish embarks on frequent journeys throughout the Loop Head Peninsula and along the stunning Wild Atlantic Way. Traveling in her trusty campervan, she seeks out idyllic spots to observe the ever-changing elements of the ocean, the waves, the weather, and the skies.
By immersing herself in nature, she finds herself brimming with creative ideas that she gracefully translates onto the canvas.
Visitors to the Scarriff Library Gallery will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the beauty and talent showcased in Ailish's collection of paintings.
Admission to the exhibition is free of charge, ensuring that everyone can experience the captivating world of Surrendering.
