Clare County Council says Doonbeg closure is to facilitate installation of new storm water sewer

Motorists are being advised of potential delays due to the planned three-week road closure close to Doonbeg village in west Clare.

In a public notice, issued under Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, Clare County Council says a section of the L-2028 at Killard Road, Doonbeg - between entrance to Dun na Mara Estate and the pump station/stream - will be closed to facilitate the installation of a new storm water sewer.

The L-2028 local road links the village and Doonbeg Bay and the local authority says local access will be maintained at all times during the works.

Beginning on Monday, April 28, the closure will operate daily, from 8am to 5pm, until Saturday, May 17.

Alternative routes / diversions

Traffic coming from the village of Doonbeg should continue on the N67 for 1.6km, turning right onto L-6074 road and later onto the L-6072 (see map below). placeholder image
