Bathing ban lifted for Clare coastal town

The advisory notice for Lahinch bathing water has now been lifted.
Following additional investigative sampling and on the advice of the HSE, Clare County Council has lifted the Advisory Notice at Lahinch.
In accordance with An Taisce’s Blue Flag programme, the blue flag will be reinstated.
The temporary ban on swimming in the Lahinch coastal seas was introduced on August 22 following dangerously high bacteria levels in the water.
The likely cause of the ban initially, which has now been lifted, was the run-off of heavy rainfall from Storm Betty.
