A former student of Coláiste Muire, Ursula now advises charities, public bodies and not-for-profit organisations across the country

Ennis woman Ursula McMahon has been appointed Partner at major business law firm Mason Hayes & Curran.

A former student of Coláiste Muire, she studied law at University College Dublin and now advises charities, public bodies and not-for-profit organisations across the country.

Ursula works closely with clients to support them through re-structures, mergers and their interactions with the Charities Regulator. Boards and trustees value her practical advice, especially when it comes to managing risk and strengthening governance.

Her parents, Michael and Mary McMahon, still live in Ennis, and Ursula says her ties to Clare remain strong.

She said, “I’m proud to be from Clare and very grateful for the encouragement and support I’ve had from my family and friends

“It’s a privilege to work with organisations that do so much good throughout society. I’m proud to join the team and continue helping clients build strong, well-governed organisations that are equipped for the road ahead," Ursula added.

Niamh Callaghan, Head of the Charity and Not-for-Profit team at Mason Hayes & Curran, welcomed the appointment.

She said: “Ursula is a trusted adviser with a deep understanding of the sector and a real feel for what clients need. Her calm, no-nonsense approach is hugely valued by boards and senior teams. We’re so pleased to welcome her to the team.”

Mason Hayes & Curran employs over 650 staff, including 124 partners and has offices in Dublin, London, New York and San Francisco.
