Clare woman with incurable brain condition launches 'unique' journals

A CLARE woman has launched her ‘deeply personal’ story of her life, as she has an incurable brain condition.
Joanne Begley has launched For After I’ve Gone journals, which were inspired by a need to ensure that her children would have a piece of her love to cherish. Joanne also supported a dear friend battling MND who shared the same sentiment.
She said: “It's so important, especially as there is nothing like it out there on the market.
“I have been chosen with the social entrepreneurs Ireland ideas academy with this concept and also pitched it to Arnotts - it is already gaining so much traction.”
For After I've Gone journals are now available for purchase on www.forafterivegone.com and selected retail locations. “They make a thoughtful and meaningful gift for anyone who wishes to leave behind a lasting legacy,” Joanne said.
All the journals share a series of unique features, including: guided prompts, to help individuals share their stories and meaningful moments. There are four journals in the series which include parent, sibling, friend and partner editions. Each journal also includes space to put in photographs.
Local artists and poets have their work showcased inside, as an additional feature. The poetry comes from some respected names, including Donna Ashworth, Liz Newman and Stephen Jenkinson.
