ENNIS Municipal District will inspect and assess a playground in the area in the coming weeks to carry out repairs.

The playground at Waterpark, according to a motion submitted by Councillor Mary Howard at the recent meeting of the MD, has been neglected, and "is not fit for purpose for children to play in".

Cllr Howard's motion called on the MD to organise a clean up of the playground.

In his response to Cllr Howard, Patrick Tiernan, acting senior executive engineer, stated that Ennis MD would "inspect and assess the playground in the coming week and will organise for appropriate remedial measures to be carried out."
