Of these, 1,654 have been issued for Lifesaver offences, i.e.: non-wearing of seat belts, driving under the influence of drink/drugs. speeding and holding a mobile phone while driving.
607 tickets were issued for other offences.
Clare has seen one road fatality so far in 2024 however across the division there have been 15 incidents that have resulted in serious injuries.
There have been 96 arrests for driving under the influence, and gardaí have seized 282 cars across the division for driving while defective or without insurance.
